Very rare pair of 1930s French lamps by Jacques Adnet
Very rare pair of 1930s French lamps by Jacques Adnet
Exquisite table lamps of crystal spheres interspersed with black painted metal rings making a playful game of shapes and volumes, standing on a black painted circular base, with an additional ring above each shade. The shades are replacements.
Provenance: Private Collection, Buenos Aires.
Jacques Adnet (1900–1984), French architect and designer, combined geometric simplicity with elegance in all his designs. These lamps are a testament to this. At the peak of his artistic career he decorated the private apartments of the French President at the Elysée Palace and the meetings room of the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
